Providing Grass Roots Football for All Ages and Genders
Wigginton Grasshoppers is a community football club which was established in 1982. We are a well-established club, recently awarded Charter Standard Community status, meeting the highest levels of recommendations as judged by the English FA.
We aim to create a single combined approach to Football providing structured opportunities for everyone in Wigginton to achieve their goals within the context of football.
We aim to create an environment within our community which ensures everyone has access to and can contribute to the football development programme in the areas regardless of age, gender, religion or ability.
What is Grass Roots Football?
All non-elite football, where taking part and having fun are the objective rather than winning. It’s for boys and girls of all ages and abilities from any background. This includes players, parents, administrators, teachers, coaches and volunteers. This equates to 98 % of all football and is the foundation of the game.
Club Development: 5 Year 50K Campaign
The Club has recently launched a 5 Year 50K fundraising campaign to build some much needed improved facilities for the football club. The proposed facilities include new changing rooms, toilets as well as an equipment storage room and a new kitchen! The club has an ambitious fundraising target and we are working towards a 2018 completion.
